In June of 2013 I found myself in a particularly low place. My prosthetic leg broke causing my only working foot to be severely injured. I was in trouble, due to my income level I couldn’t afford decent health coverage and didn’t qualify for assistance. I was deflated as the future looked bleak. Then a ray of sunshine appeared, a friend recommended and got me in touch with Anchor Orthotics and Prosthetics.

I went to my appointment looking for an assessment and expecting to hear what I already knew, that I was out of luck. I left that appointment inflated with joy. Not only was everyone at Anchor O & P extremely positive and kind, they also provided a possible solution to my problem in the form of a video fundraiser.

A video crew was assembled to film an interview and my fitting for a new socket. The next step was a series of interviews of my friends, family and co-workers. An amazing video was produced and placed on an internet fundraiser site. All of this was done efficiently, quickly and willing. The results were an overwhelming success.

Only a few short months later I am up and walking on a brand new C-Leg with a socket that fits like a glove. My cheeks still hurt from smiling so much. I wish everyone could feel the irresistible happiness that comes from walking fluidly and easily after years of wearing an inferior poorly fit prosthetic. It is by far the most precious gift I have received. There is really no way to adequately thank Anchor O and P for this dramatic, miraculous improvement in my life. This company and the people in it are beyond amazing. When I am there I feel like I am their only project and my comfort and mobility is the only goal. I get the sincere sense that their purpose and objective is to give this gift anyone who needs it. Beyond that they are also highly skilled and exceptionally qualified to accomplish this mission.
